Atiku Wins PDP Presidential Primary In Port Harcourt

Former Nigeria’s Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has emerged the Presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), having won the Presidential primary election at the party’s national convention which began in Port Harcourt, capital of Rivers State yesterday, Saturday.

Atiku emerged winner with 1,532 votes to beat his closest rival, Aminu Tambuwal who is the current governor of Sokoto State. Tambuwal polled 693 votes even as the third place aspirant, Bukola Saraki, the current President of the Senate got 317.

The Chairman of the PDP Convention Committee and Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, announced the results of the primary today, Sunday morning.

Other results are,  Jonah Jang,  19 votes; Datti Ahmed, 5 votes; David Mark , 35 votes; Tanimu Turaki, 65 votes; Sule Lamido, 96 votes; Attahiru Bafarawa, 48 votes; Ibrahim Dankwambo, 111 votes; Ahmed Makarfi, 74 votes and Rabiu Kwankwaso,  158 votes.
