Many political allies of the former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who followed him to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have returned to APC.
They include the former Kano State deputy governor, Professor Hafiz Abubakar; former Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Architect Aminu Dabo; the immediate past National Treasurer of the PDP, Bala Mohammed Gwagwarwa; Security Adviser to Kwankwaso, retired General Danjuma Dambazau; Engineer Mu’azu Magaji, Senator Isa Zarewa who left in protest against the last APC primaries, and others.
The returnees, who were led to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Vila, Abuja, today, Thursday, by the Governor of Jigawa State, Abubakar Badaru, assured the President that they are ready to work with everyone to record yet another historic victory in the 2019 general elections.
President Buhari, who received them back into the APC fold, called on stakeholders in the APC all over the country to work for genuine reconciliation “for the benefit of our people and our nation.”
President Buhari said that the party is large enough to accommodate everyone and promised to speak to the leadership of the party and government in Kano to accommodate and work with the returnees.
