Jonathan Accuses Nigerian Youths Of Laziness, Asks Them To Wake Up

Goodluck Jonathan

Former Nigeria’s President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has accused youths in the country of laziness.
Speaking to news men in Otuoke, his country home where he cast his vote in the Saturday, November 16 Bayelsa State gubernatorial election, the former president wondered why majority of the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) who are young people were absent at polling units long after election was supposed to have commenced.
Jonathan who said that he arrived at his polling unit at about 8.19, said that not even security people or journalists were around as at that time.
“I have observed elections in some African countries and in no one election started later than 8.00am. But here we are with election not starting even at 9.00am.
“We cannot be doing awkward things and expect to get better results. Our youths cannot be lazy and continue to blame older people in leadership for the problems of the country.”
Jonathan advised the youths to be more proactive and chart a new course in the nation’s march to greatness.
