Gunmen In Military Uniform Kill 100 Cows In Taraba

Gunmen dressed in military uniform, attacked communities in Abbare, Lau Local Government area of Taraba State, killing no fewer than 100 cows.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, David Misal, who confirmed the news today, Friday in Jalingo, the State capital said that the command has deployed more policemen to the area.

He said that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the area has been directed to investigate the matter.

David Missal assured that more information would be released to the public as soon as clearer pictures on the situation are received.

A community leader of Abbare village, located on the border of Adamawa and Taraba, Muhammad Umar, had said that some gunmen in military uniform invaded the area at about 1 p.m. yesterday, Thursday.

“In the process, the gunmen killed at least 100 cows and maimed several others.”

Muhammad Umar appealed to military authorities and other security agencies to investigate the alleged involvement of the military in the attacks.
