President Muhammadu Buhari has advised students to develop their characters in addition to the acquisition of education.
Speaking today, July 23 in his Daura country home in Katsina State, the President promised to continue to do his best to improve the quality of education in the country.
The President, while receiving the proprietress, principal and students of a private school, Premier Pacesetters School, Daura, called on the students to imbibe a sense of discipline and be committed to the building of the nation.
“We will allocate an increasing share of resources to improve learning in the country in our effort to reform the educational sector.”
He insisted that next to the acquisition of education is another very important aspect of human development, which is character, calling on them not to lose sight of the aspirations of the country.
The school proprietress, Mrs Celine Friday, conveyed to the President the Sallah greetings of staff and students of the institution and commended the special attention given to education by the Buhari administration.
She used the opportunity to appeal for federal government assistance to private schools in rural communities.
