Fani Kayode Lied, Nnamdi Kanu Didn’t Tell Him About Removing Buhari – Kanu’s Lawyer

Femi-Fani Kayode

Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, lawyer to the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, has dismissed claims by the former Nigerian minister of aviation, Femi Fani Kayode that his client had indicated interest to work for the removal of President Muhammadu Buhari from office in next year’s general elections.

Reacting to Fani Kayode claim today, Saturday, that the controversial IPOB leader wanted by the Nigerian military authorities had given his word to work with like minds to remove President Buhari from office, Barrister Aloy Ejiofor said: “I want to make it clear to all that Nnamdi Kanu’s brief chat with Fani Kayode earlier today did not include anything close to agreeing to ‘work together with Fani Kayode to vote out Buhari’, as is being circulated on social media.

“On the contrary, Nnamdi Kanu wants all to know that IPOB remains solidly committed to Self Determination and Referendum; and is therefore not interested in any partisan politics of the moment. I urge all and sundry to take caution and be guided accordingly.”

The lawyer, in a Facebook post after Fani-Kayode’s tweet said: “as Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s Special Counsel, he’s been speaking with me from his location in Israel in the past few days.”

Nnamdi Kanu went missing sometime in September 2017 when the military raided his family home in Abia state in which scores of young people were allegedly killed.

Kanu and his group have been calling for a referendum to determine if the mainly Igbo speaking people in the South Eastern part want to remain part of Nigeria
