How I Picked New Acting Inspector General Of Police – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has given an insight into the process that led to the appointment of Usman Baba as the new Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP). Answering Reporters’ questions on his arrival from two-week medical trip to London, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja today, April 15, Buhari said that Usman Baba went through some rigours.

“We went through the system: there was a committee by the Minister of Police Affairs. They gave me some names and he happened to be the one chosen.

“He knows his job. He has been in it for a long time. He went through all the trainings. He has the necessary experience. So, we have a high expectation from him.”

President Buhari said that the new service chiefs know what is wrong: they know what is right and I think they are doing their best.

“I hope their best will be good enough for Nigeria.”

On his medical trip to London, the President said that it went very well, saying that he had returned to continue from where he stopped.
