President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed shock and deep sadness over the death of his longtime friend and associate, Malam Isma’ila Isa Funtua.
He said that Isa Funtua, who until his death today, July 20, was Life Patron of International Press Institute and Newspapers Proprietors Association of Nigeria (NPAN), had stood by him throughout his political journey.
In a condolence message to the family members, government and people of Katsina State, as all associates, President Buhari said that his death had created a huge gap in the media industry.
Describing late Isa Funtua as a man that was “greatly admired and respected,” the President prayed to Allah for repose of Malam Funtua’s soul, and to grant the family strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
