Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has said that those who attended the unveiling of Kashim Shettima as Presidential running mate to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) may not be real bishops but that they are christians.

Amaechi, who spoke at an event marking the 60th birthday of Eugene Ogu, general overseer of Abundant Life Evangel Mission in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, stressed that the persons in question are Christians.

“Those bishops you saw (at Kashim Shettima’s unveiling ceremony), may not be bishops, but they are Christians.”

There have been controversies and mixed reactions to the appearance of over 30 ‘bishops’ that attended the official unveiling of Shettima as the running mate to APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.
